UPS Worldwide Express

hi, i brought a CD from the universal music store and they have shipped it via UPS Worldwide Express it has landed in derby now(after just over 24hours in total)
just wondering how much i should expect to pay for customs, the CD was $36+postage($14iirc) came to ?25 in total anyway, i guess they won't mark it down so it will be 17.5% of ?25 which i know but does anyone know how much handleing fee's ups will add on?

normally UPS Express will get in contact with you on the custom duty/tax before releasing... if not call them up and give the tracking# for checking...

imho EMS is the best method for shipping smaller but expensive items if available to your country - I'd be surprised it's not though...

yes it does ft: thats more than the cost of the CD, i just hope they didn't put the total including on, as then it may just get past, guess i'll find out in a couple of day.

i've received alot of stuff from parcelfarce and royal fail recently and the goods have been marked down but the value has still be aroud the 60usd mark

I got hammered by UPS only the other day.

Different item, similar price.

DVD set valued at $37

Customs fee of ?9.82
UPS Brokerage fee of ?11 (WTF!!!!! )

Grand total of ?20.82 charge

I just cant work out how the got the ?9.82 from? 17.5% of 37 is 6.45 (assuming they took the $37 as ?37. And converted $37 = ?19.35 of which 17.5% is ?3.38?!

Am I missing something here? The cost of the item went up by best part of 50% which surely isnt right?!

It's not right no but they make a **** load from everyone. It's all a con but we have no choice really, well of course we could go with different shipping methods but you know what I mean.

here in AU music CD attract about 5% duty whereas game CD none...
often I asked them mark it as used game CD on the invoice...

use Global Priority for small cheap items and EMS for small but expensive items...
