    Pioneer 109 & Xbox

So i use to have a 107, thought i would upgrade to the latest 109, but now i have a problem.. I have a modded XB that i use for watching movies etc on, but now i have a 109 drive anything i write cant be ready by the xb dvd drive.. i have tried various speeds and am still using the same media i was before the swap.. The dvd's can be read in the pc fine, but they just wont work in the XB, i have also tried to see if they work in Chads XB to no avail...

    Has anybody had this issue.?
Do you think its worth updating the firmware on the dvd drive, to cure the problem ?

    I am stuck

It's a well documented problem on the forums at http://rpc1.org http://www.cdreaks.com and http://www.xbox-scene.com

I also have a 109, have flashed it with the latest firmware and tried the latest nero and an earlier one which some people claim to work. I have also tried a patched version of Recordnow Max as per other forums, it works for some, but not for me.

I think it'll be a case of waiting for further firmware updates, it's taken quite a while for someone to produce a firmware flashing tool which works with this drive, so hopefully some un-official firmware will be released soon.

It looks like the drive in the xbox might account for it working for people, samsung drives and pioneer look to be causing a problem.

    Cheers
    Pete

I ended up getting an NEC 3520 for now, keeping the pioneer for when this problem is ironed out.

So for the people who need to know.. i have found a work around to get this problem fixed.

You need the latest firmware on your drive and a program called burn4you its a freeware cd\dvd writing prog.
Aparently there is a weird issue between the 109\nero\Xbox for some reason if you use the apove software it works fine..

This is tried and tested and everything works fine again ...

A bit of an update on this, firmware 1.40 is now out on the web (but not pioneers site yet), it's available here http://flashman.rpc1.org/Firmware/PI...-109/Standard/ (DVR109_FW140EU.zip).

I've flashed my drive and now disks burnt using nero work in my xbox.
