Can Australian PS2 games work on European machines

Just wondering if anyone knew if Australian games work on UK PS2 consoles. I know Gamecube/ N64 games do but not too sure on the PS2. Does anybody know ? Thanks

Yes they do, although Australian PS2 games have cases that are devoid of a memory card holder.

no most of PS2 AU release do have memory card holder although some are missing this one for whatever reason...

AU use the same PAL format as EU and NZ.

All the Australian games I've ever purchased have been by companies who differentiate Australia as a separate territory from Europe. Would I be right in thinking that all the games that have memory card holders are from publishers who regard Europe and Australia as one eg have multilingual packaging etc?
