    Gameboy Player for the Gamecube

    Hi All,

I have a jap modded gamecube and i am thinking about buying a gameboy player for it.

Does anyone have a gameboy player or have tried one and what they like. My main concern is that when you put the game on a big screen the graphics are either gonna be blocky or you will get a real small window to play the game in on the tv.

Anyway can anyone put me right on this ?

Also the cheapest i have seen them is at play-asia.com for around ?40 delivered, anyone know anywhere cheaper ?

    as tom nook would say

    Thanks Much !

Its great. The picture isnt blocky in the slightest, and it is much better playing on a full size screen. Its easy to use and connect, and it makes the GC look better (as it is now a proper cube).

I dont play games on the move, so this is the ideal solution for playing games like Wario Ware et al.

Question... does the Gamecube software automatically detect the link with the Gameboy player for games with link up cababilities?

On a side note, does anyone have any more news on the Panasonic Q gameboy player?

doesn't appear to work - i had the gameboy player connected and on animal crossing the guys at the docks didn't appear - he does if you connect a gba normally though

Btw is the UK version out before the US one? I've had dates of 20th June for UK and 23rd for US... would be quite unusual if that was the case! Either way, waiting the US version for English text...

Wicky - from left to right:

                      Option 1 - choose border
                      Option 2 - screen size
                      Option 3 - controller mapping
                      Option 4 - anti-aliasing on/off
Option 5 - Parental control timer
Option 6 - Shuts off power to player so you can change game without rebooting the GameCube

                      Tommy - No.

The image quality is a lot better than I expected. As you know, you can either play it with a border or full screen, which makes it slightly more blurry. When I play with a border I tend to just have the black one, because most of them are rather tacky and obnoxious. There's also three different display settings, but the difference between them is very subtle. One is standard, the other one makes it a little sharper (Wario Land 4 looks great on this one) and the other one is odd... it seems to add a bit of blur behind you when you move around, I'm not quite sure what this one's for... maybe it makes '3D' mode 7 games look nicer?

The music also sounds fantastic, especially the F-Zero title screen track. Sounds better quality than my Snes in fact, which has a more muffled feel to it...

Here is some pics, sorry about the quality!

                          Terrible border:

Which is rather annoying as I ordered Wario Ware through Goblin on import naturally
