PS2 online gaming with chipped machine

Pretty simple question this:

Is it at all possible to play online NTSC PS2 games using a chipped PAL PS2?

Anyone know?

Don't think its possible as the chip will get detected once you connect. Not sure if it applies to just SCE games or not though.

Regardless of chips, it's not possible. Games and console have to be the same region to get past Sony's DNAS check.

nope but i've got a messiah 2 modded ps2 and i can play the beta trial discs on it fine but that must because the dnas recongises in the ps2 as pal.

you could get a us ps2 from vg+ for 86 quid + post which will be the best way
