    XBOX Live question

Hi, sorry for the newb question but I am just that

I want to get on XBOX Live and I have a few trials. The problem is that I don't have a credit card (only debit). I am GUESSING (although not certain) that if you wanted to buy a 12 month subscription, you could call or whatever and buy it with your debit card (or of course buy a 12month code in the starter kit) but i'm not so sure about trials.

Is it possible to somehow use a debit card? I was looking at getting a credit card but I don't really wanna get one just so I can register with XBOX Live (and not even be charged, just to use a FREE trial!).

    Thanks all

unless somethings changed recently, cc is a must to sign up for xbox live (even a trial, and when u rgister your 12month code that comes in the xbox live kits that shops sell) have u a family member who would be willing to sign up for you?

Yeah, I could probably "borrow" the services of one of my family members....just thought i'd explore the other options.

After you've burned the two months for free, can you pay by debit/direct debit/cash/cheque for a further 12 months on that tag?

Because I don't really want to pay the fee on a credit card...

Just buy a starter kit. That gives you 12 months subscription and is cheaper than paying ?39.99 for the year from MS with a credit card. They're usually about ?30 on amazon and sometimes with a game.

Yes, but you still need a credit card to sign up with that starter pack. The point is that whilst you've payed in advance for the year, they want a way to a) check you're a "real person" and b) bill you when the year is up.

Debit cards do NOT work. In short: whatever you get, you need a CC.

            Hmmm. Thanks Paleface.

That indeed sucks. I guess whatever I do, I may as well burn a trial or two before I pay considering I need a C/C either way.

Visa debit card here too, its cos Visa rule basically. Where ever you see a Visa logo or the word visa the shop/service has to accept all visa cards, visa are appartently very picky when it comes to this.

I know that...I was merely pointing out that instead of letting the CC take care of the sub you can save yourself a bit and maybe even bag a cheap game.
