DVD 9 is a dual layered DVD that some games come on. There are only a handful of games that come on the format - the only ones I can think of are Gran Turismo 4 and Xenosaga.

You need the Swap Magic discs for ps2 backups and The Breaker Pro disc for ps1 backups.

It doesn't work with GT4 as my friend tried my disc on his PS2 and it doesn't work with it.

It's handy, but can be a pain. Most games work, some games require you to swap in an additional loader after the Swap Magic. Not hard, just one extra step, that's all.

As previous posts said, DVD9 games do not work. However, you can get patches for most games to span them across 2 normal DVDR's (such as Xenosaga).
I used one for 2 years until I got my DMS4 EZI Pro.

One thing I will say is that the Slide Tool will mess up your PS2 drive mechanism, as it's basically forcing your drive out. I would advise you look for the Flip Top/Swap Magic combo instead. Same principle, you just swap the discs using a flip-up lid, as opposed to forcing the drive out.

Anyone tried the Flip Top Cover V4 to V8 + Swap Magic 3.3 PAL? I'm pretty interested in this, instead of going the mod chip route.

The flip covers arn't all that bad to be honest, as long as they're the decent quaility ones.

Obviously though by using a flip cover you'l invalidate your warrenty as you'l need to remove your security tab in order to replace the lid.

There are now flip cover's available for the V12. Just waiting for one in the post to check the quality of them. Will be selling them at a later date if anyone's interested.
