Are PS2 Boot Discs Region Free

I posted something like thsi before, I have a US PS2 want to play UK/Jap games on it with a flip top. I assume I need a boot disc to do this though (like in the old PSX days). However im having trouble finding a US one, but I can easily find a Swap Magic boot disc but its PAL region, can I use this or will it not work on a US PS2 and only ment for a PAL one to play US and JAP.#

This may seem a bit confussing but please try and help a guy out.

you do need a USA one a PAL one is no good to you, suggest you check out ps2case.com they should be able to help.
