Best Street Fighter game for PAL PS2?

I've had my PS2 for almost a year now, and I really need my Street Fighter fix. Please could someone kindly suggest the best game from the Street Fighter canon for a PAL PS2 (preferably one PAL optimised - haven't got the cash for console chipping at the moment).

This is what you're after; it includes the StreetFighter Anime as well.

Play have sold out; Amazon have it though for ?15.99

      Hyper Streetfighter 2
      Capcom V SNK 2
      Marvel Vs Capcom 2

That's all there is on PAL PS2 as far as I can think of. If you don't want to play old-school Hyper Streetfighter 2 then Capcom V SNK 2 is probabily your best bet, though it's 50hz only.

Does Hyper Street Fighter II have an NTSC mode? I know most new Capcom games do.

          Capcom Fighting Jam:
It has SF characters in it, as well characters from other Capcom games.

And then there is also Marvel vs Capcom 2, which also has SF characters in it, but uses a four buttons layout and different fighting engine.

Both games have a 60hz option.

Capcom Fighting Jam sucks, though; and I mean that in the kindest possible way...

Capcom vs SNK 2 is excellent - get that and Marvel vs Capcom 2 - should be all you need for a quick fix.

if you have got a Dreamcast, can recommend Street Fighter III 3rd Strike and Street Fighter Alpha/Zero 3 - both superb.

The fact that CvS2 is not optimised is a real negative though. It's squashed, bordered and slow. If that's all you're used to then you might not mind as it is the best of the pal PS2 bunch. Seany is right though, if you've got a DC you'd be better off going for games on that until you can get your PS2 chipped.

Capcom VS SNK2 is rubbish as well

It's fun in a stupid, splashy, imbalanced way...

I spotted both in a nearby indie game shop for less than a tenner, so I'm tempted. Do they have decent PAL conversions though?

It had an NTSC mode didn't it? Most post-DMC Capcom games do.

                            I don't know about MvsC2 but CvsSNK2 certainly doesn't.

And it's bordered like a motherrucker.

Gah, what a bugger. I actually had CvsSNK2 for my 'Cube and it was definitely PAL optimised. (Only sold it because I found it too frustrating to play using a Hori digital pad - should've kept it and hunted down a joystick for my beloved 'Cube.)
