Need help with darkbasic programming (game programming)

right i am currently on a computer game designing course at uni and i am really struggling with using dark basic, i can load a level and load a character and get him to move but i cannot do any advanced stuff which i need for my end of year project. i have bought the darkbasic books to try and help me but i really need someone to take me thru it step by step..........so is there anyone who can help me or is there any forums dedicated to computer game programming?

    thanks, Paul

I've made a racing game in dark basic before, but I dunno how much help I can be, as I am mainly concentrating on C++ (OpenGL / DirectX), and some Gameboy advance stuff. But I think first you need to exactly explain what it is your trying to achieve, what youve done so far, and then maybe someone can help you. I dont know if anyone is going to be kind enough to talk you through an entire language step by step or do your coursework, but they might point you in the right direction.

Some good resources for DarkBasic....hmmm try the official forums on thier website, their are quite afew helpfull people on their who can probably help you better than anyone.

Also what Darkbasic are you using? Standard or Pro, as Pro has alot more functionality.

    2D, 3D???

    Wheres your course at dude?

This may sound harsh, but if you're doing the course at uni, and have the books- then i guess it's a case of buckling down, going through the notes/examples, and getting on with it.

I don't know darkBASIC, but I can help with other game programming things. If you're stuck on a specific thing just ask.
