PS2 pad for shooters?

I have a few shooting games for the PS2, and using the standard D-pad is quite obviously a joke. have tried an arcade stick but didn't get on with it. Any ideas? something like a saturn pad would be good, i have seen the remakes and the lookalike street fighter ones, but are they any good for shooters? and what about the standard hori ones?

edit - while ime at it, any recomendations for gamecube pads? for the same reason. the snes hori ones?

edit2 - anyone know if these http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-23-70-14p.html# work with the saturn ps2 pads to save getting a hori gamecube one as well?

You're in luck, the Saturn pad came out just last week and it's ace, I got two and they're certainly the best pads I've used on the PS2 so far (I should check but I assume they'll work on the PS1 too). Highly recommended for shooters.

And yes, get the Hori digital pad too, they also are quite glorious.
