Buying a launch model xbox a good idea?

Someone has one for sale for ?60 inc and was wondering if it's a good buy. It's cheap I know, but is there suppose to be a drawback to the original dvd drives? If so what is it?

If you want to play kotor, then I woulnd't bother. Apparently the drive damages the disc, or some such...

I'd say avoid it, considering that later revisions of the console are bound to have improved certain aspects (in particular the dodgy PSU that has been getting a lot of mention recently...)

Depends, if it has a Samsung drive then snap it up, that drive alone is worth ?40-odd. And it stands a decent chance of having the 10gb drive rather than the 8gb one (only any use if you're interested in exploiting the box though). Later revisions don't necessarily mean improvements!

I'd say if it's not been treated badly, it's a good price for an Xbox. If you've reason to suspect it may have been abused, it could be on it's last legs so best avoided.
