    N64 'Passport'

    Hey all,

I've been considering picking up a 'Passport III' cartridge so as to be able to play some NTSC games on th' old PAL N64 ...

I was just wondering - will it actually allow games to be displayed in NTSC ? Or does it just use the hardware of the of the necessary other cart to process the signal into bordered PAL ?

Also - any general opinions on the product ? Any games it won't work with ? Worth a punt ?

    Thanks ^^

I'm interested in this too, I've heard compatibility is not great but I don't know the details.

Not sure about the bordets with a passport?

But you may as well buy an NTSC N64 (which you can use your UK power supply with) as they are about ?20-?30 anyway.

I bought a passport 3 and could not get S+P to run on mu UK N64, so sold it on ebay and bought a USA N64 for the same price. Much less hassle IMO.

The only game I've played via the Passport 3 is Sin and Punishment which I've never noticed any borders on.

I'm due to get the JP version of Mischief Makers through soon which I have been informed should function with the P3 as well.

You need to input a boot code on the P3 in order for S & P to work:
        E93D0054-003F
Which you add as cheat code, the cartridge stores the code so you just have to tell it to start the game with the selected cheat.

But to my knowledge that is the only game which requires it.

I've played 1080, F Zero X, and others using Passport with a PAL N64. They worked fine on normal (old) TV that didn't support NTSC

Infact I still have them... Might just have to fire the old N64 up this weekend
