    Need help with I.E

I need some help, the problem is driving me crazy.

When ever i try and click on a link on a website the internet just freezes and i have to reboot.

I don't know what caused it buit its been happening for about 24 hours now and it is driving me crazy. I managed to get to the microsoft website and my internet explorer is fully upto date.

The problem only happens when the link opens a new window, also if i try to open a link in a new window it happens.

Pleae help or point me in the direction of a website that can help me.

    Cheers

Faster page loading, less memory usage and packed with features, the new Firefox is here.

Get Mozilla Firefox and use that instead. It's faster, better designed and far more secure. It's also completely free.

I concur, use Firefox at least for the meantime so you can get some web browsing done. Firefox is faster than IE, and also has a handy 'tab browsing' feature allowing you to have as many webpages as you need open in the one window. I have no idea what the problem with your IE might be tho.

i installed firefox and it works i don't think my I.E6 ever worked fully.

Will i have problems loading some pages that are not compatable with the browser i remember trying Netscape years ago and only about 90% of sites would work.

Also how do i stop the predicting of urls on firefox?

what i mean is if i want to yahoo.co.uk and then wanted to goto www.yahoo.com i want it to not suggest .co.uk

Another Firefox whore here, however it doesn't help you out as sometimes you need IE (unfortunatley) as some sites dont work with FF.

I might be worth reapplying you lastest service pack as this refreshes system components. Also run Adaware/Spybot just incase somethings fooking up IE by making it do something else 1st.

I am very carefull with spyware and have run:

            Spybot
            Spy Sweeper
            Ad aware

All are upto date and i had no problems on any of them.

Just keep typing. Which ever one you use most comes to the top, so if you go to .co.uk every so often but use .com all the time, the .com will stay at the top.

No way to disable it? It gets on my nerves.

^ In firefox - Tools - Options - Privacy - Saved form Information. Hit the little + then untick.
