Help furnish a Dreamcast noob with info & links please.

Only ever owned a DC once (for 2 months last year just to play Psyvariar 2 then sold it on), now looking to pick one up and start collecting game for it, used google and found a few useful sites but am sure there are much better ones the DC guys here can suggest, mainly looking for any useful info such as; second hand hardware/game guide prices, games lists (all regions if poss), good and bad of which region console to buy, and whether to buy a chipped one or just use DC-X.

    Not after much eh,
    Many thanks.

    I've got a pal one using DC-x.
    Works a treat.

Occassionally some DC games dont work with RGB, but I dont think this is fixed with a chip.

You will need a vga adaptor for 640x480 lovelyness.

If you want to try emulation and homebrew, try www.dcemulation.com

Is there any way to kill the huge ass dead zone on the arcade stick?

What dead zone? I've never noticed it. Best arcade stick I own (prefer it to my Horis).

The owner of this domain has not yet uploaded their website.

I recommend buying an NTSC one (any version) and mod chipping it, if you can find a chip. It's only 4 wires to solder to the main board and works like a charm. DC-X works very nicely too, but disc-swapping gets a bit tedious. The reason I say get an NTSC and not a PAL is because on a mod chipped PAL console, some NTSC titles will try to play in 50hz which isn't as fun. I believe Lik-Sang even sell new mod-chipped NTSC consoles, which makes things nice and simple.

If you get a 2nd hand DC and it starts reseting, dont forget to come back here for the solution - its a common problem with an easy solution.

I normally just look up completed items on ebay and average the prices.

Check the valuation thread for games you find interesting.

I love the Dreamcast because hardly any of the games have reached Saturn prices yet. And them orange boxes =

Yeah. I'm trying to rack my brains, but I think the only DC title that goes for insane prices is still Samba De Amigo.

I'm selling a DC arcade stick/steering wheel/keyboard and mouse/pads etc in the trading forum. Hell I'll sell you all my games and my DC as well if you're looking for some I've wanted to sell it for a while now tbh but never got round to doing it
