    GFX Card issue

I've been experiencing crashing and freezing recently, so I ran the usual remedies to try to get it sorted (defrag, spyware, AV check). The problem persisted. In addition to randomly crashing, it seemed to happen almost always while I'm watching a movie file or playing games. I took from this that it may be a problem with the GFX card and had a look.

Sure enough, the fan on the card (Sapphire Radeon 9800pro) was struggling, barely spinning. I took it out and cleaned some dust from around it , to see if this was the problem. Now, it's stopped spinning altogether! I can barely run the PC for more than 10 minutes before it crashes.

Is there a solution to this, or do I have to buy a new card?

yeah, piece a p**s. ya just line the 2 screws up where the old fan is held in by the plastic clips. you get a full colour documentation/fitting guide with it, ya cant go wrong.

You'll probably find the card runs cooler with one of those too - so you might be able to push the clock speeds a bit higher.

Of course, it's a good excuse to get a new gfx card
