Mac OSX Tiger released April 29th

Looks nice especially Dashboard in the demo below.
Bill's probably shouting 'I want that in Longhorn RIGHT NOW!'

I am looking forward to Dashboard also, looks a right handy little feature that will get used all the time

Apple stole the idea from konfabulator lol....

The dashboard always looked excellent to me... I only kept my iMac G5 for a weekend though before I sent it back for a refund so I don't think I'll ever get to use it.

Wonder how long it is til Microsoft turn the dashboard into a "Microsoft innovation"

The other big new feature is their own equivalent of Google Desktop Search, which they're calling Sherlock. Looks nice.

Spotlight looks really neat as well, even if it isn't always going to be too useful.

How about Core Image (name?)? Now that sounds really good.

Sherlock in OSX Tiger but its not centre stage anymore. No-one will bother with it now that Spotlight is included.

Would the release of tiger mean that its best holding off buying an Apple (mini) till April 29th then?

demon9k, nobody is saying dashboard has never been done before. One look at that horrifyingly garish screengrab shows theres been similar software on the PC. Its just Apple like usual seem to have made it gorgeous to look at, and easy to use.

I'm sure it will be great for people who would use it but I was annoyed by one person posting something about MS copying apple for the PC and tbh I don't like apple so I thought I would set the record straight that Apple don't seem to come up with orginal ideas either. I'm just being a twat tbh

Don't mind me, I'm going from a very poor memory. It's Spotlight that I was meaning, which is effectively Sherlock's replacement.
