Just Bought a TV Card - PLEASE HELP

I have just had a TV card come through the post from eBay it's an ASUS one and seems to work fine, didn't come with any software though so can you guys please recommend some? I got some links from the seller but the program I used I could only get video and no sound

Do any of you have TV cards and what software are you using to view/record TV?

    Thanks in advance.

If you just want to view, try Dscaler: www.dscaler.org
This deinterlaces incoming video on the fly.

If you want to record from TV, try VirtualVCR (Google it, first site that appears), which preserves the interlacing structure of what you're feeding it (in other words it doesn't process the video in any way, it just saves it).

Are you sure the TV card puts sound into windows? I only have experience of an old TV card, but i thought they have audio outs, which you then connect to your sound card inputs, with an small external cable.

Well the card did come with a weird cable but I thought that was optional, hmm maybe i'll try and plug that in later tonight.

If it's the kind I'm thinking of (not the USB box type) then yes, the sound card handles the audio input through its Line-In.

is it a square ish kind of cable with a little clip on?

If so you will have a slot on your sound card called line in or summit that it will need to go into from your TV card

If ur sound is onboard it will be on ur mainboad

Try checking the manufactures homepage for new drivers.
