Japanese Dreamcast Fishing rods

After borrowing my mates DC when mine refused to work the other day, exactly the same thing has happened. None of the joystick ports now work.

I've been playing loads of marine fishing lately and was wondering if the fishing rod I have is maybe japanese and is the culprit?

afaik, _all_ DC controllers are region free.

Sega lightguns will not work with US Sega light gun games, but that was a deliberate bit of software protection by Sega after the Columbine shootings.

it sounds like you have a dodgy controller thats busting dc control ports, or maybe its a freak coincidence.
