    Recommend me a graphics card

New to these parts so go easy Anyway I'm going to be upgrading my wanky old 9600 graphics card to something new. I've got a budget of about ?130 (can go slighty higher if required) and was wondering if anyone of you good folk could perhaps recommend me an AGP card. At the moment I'm probably going to get a Geforce 6600GT, I have seen 6800LE's for around about the same price though, would they be a better bet? A friend also mentioned a Radeon X600 but I know absolutely sod all about them.

I've asked around a few people and places and I was saying the same budget of ?130 and most people said the GeForce 6600GT. Seems to be the most popular. So you'll probably get the same response here now.

yep, 6600GT, try keeping an eye on www.overclockers.co.uk 's clearance/B grade section where they sometimes have 6600GT's for as little as ?100 (make sure you get the right kind though since its available in pci-e and agp)

the B-grade one's are just ones that have been returned, not actualy damaged but sometimes missing driver cd's, nothing you cant easily get off the net.

They destroy the 9600XT. 6600GT's are like 9800's XT's pretty much.

yep no doubt about it, 6600gt is the best for that price. you could prob get a 9800xt for a bit more buit there woudnt really be any performance diff. stay away from the x600, its a piece of ****. dont think theres much difference between the different 6600gt's, i dont think many of them stray away from the reference design.
