    Tactics ogre

    Hi guys,

Do any of you know where I might be able to get a legit copy of this game for the GBA.
I don't trust ebay for GBA games. Have tried playasia, and video games plus.

    Thanks in advance

I recall seeing on ein the trading folder a week or so ago, so have a search there.

You'll struggle to find it in any online retailers because it was deleted ages ago. Your best bet is to probably keep a look out on the trading forum - that's where I got mine. Ebay US might also be worth a shot (there seems to be a lot less pirated GBA games on there than on the UK equivalent).

The amount of pirated games on eBay is depressing. You're totally right to avoid it.

Videogameimports.com might be worth a look, they'll look out for a copy for you, albiet they can be a little pricey.

One to look out for when I'm in the US in a fortnight's time then...

Just had a scan around, my local Gamestop has 1-3 units in stock right now. Doesn't seem hard to find, loads of other Gamestop's have it in stock too. All pre-owned.

Really would like to know if it's any cop though.

I've barely played my copy, however from what others have told me it's very similar to FF Tactics (which is no surprise as both series have had many of the same people work on them), but unlike the GBA version of Tactics which was simpler than the PS1 version this is actually far more complex than its SNES/PS1 prequel. I'm told that if you invest the time in it, it is quite brilliant.

I really enjoyed it. Well, what I played of it before my copy turned out to be a ****ing bootleg and the battery died.

I disagree with Gossi. Even if FFTA's been simplified from the PS game, it's still a deeper game than this - certainly in terms of opening up new character classes and individual character development. There's basically a lot less freedom in the way you can approach TO. TO has a more complex storyline - which, let's face it, wouldn't be difficult - but it's a storyline which is a bit of a confusing mess.

Which isn't to say it's a bad game. It doesn't suffer from the fubar menu system that nearly killed FFTA, for a start. It's also great fun, and that's got to be the most important thing. If I found an official copy somewhere (and had the money to buy it) I'd snap it up immediately.

But I wouldn't ever dream of going anywhere near eBay for GBA games, especially R@RE!!!11! ones. You're guaranteed to end up with a shoddy pirated copy.

Thanks to the both of you! See, I love FF Tactics (not the Advance one though) and have actually been playing Fire Emblem on Hard in anticipation of the sequel. Gonna go down to Gamestop tonight and pick a copy up then, $20 - not shoddy at all!
