Lexmark Printer Advice

I have a great printer indoors. HP 2210 all in one.

Someone I know wants an all in one at a good price. I am thinking of trying to get them a laserjet due to the high price of inkjet cartridges, therefore ruling out the 2210.

I spotted the Lexmark X1180. Does anyone know if this is any good?

I'm a bit confused, you say you want out of the inkjet market, but the X1180 is an inkjet :/

I have a Lexmark at home, not an all in one mind, but it's decent. Ink's pricey but that's the same everywhere.

Yeh sorry I meant I spotted the lexmark as an alternative to laserjet, and at ?60 tops is a nice choice.

Lexmark are like HP in that the print head is built into the cartridge, hence the high price. Epson and Canon build the head into the printer, so cheaper cartidges can be gotten.

Ok i have this printer/scanner combo, the scanner side is great and the printer is ok as long as you dont expect high quality graphics (i.e: covers) from what I've found so far and it does eat ink up pretty quickly, but i suppose this lot is outweighed by how stupidly cheap it is. 7 out of 10 so far... btw if you do get it, make some space. Its huge!
