Logic 3 GT3 wheel ps2 problem

The steering wheel only functions as the x-axis of the d-pad, rather than the x-axis of the left thumbstick which is what its supposed to do (either that or sensitiviy is such that it only kicks in when the wheel is turned half way and then only behaves as if the thumbstick is pushed all the way).It works fine on the xbox. One option would be to use some sort of xbox to PS2 converter, but I haven't found one anywhere.

Have you tried fiddling about with all the in game settings as I have it and it works properly with GT4. If it's not GT4 your using then maybe the game in question doesn't support the full features of the wheel?
