Would I simply be able to remove the case, bleach it, then spray it? I'd like to do it white, ideally (not the easiest colour to respray black I know!), so how difficult would it be?

Can't help you about respraying, but an easier / safer alternative might be buying the white game skin and jewel replacement from these
Just used them to skin a PS2 and they're really good. Quick service and the stuff is really easy to apply -

I have a sprayed white case if your interested.
Sprayed it and didn't like it so went back to black.
Took about 5 coats as I didn't know about bleaching and the green tinge kept coming through.
BTW What is bleaching? Apart from the obvious. Is it something that can be done without specialist equipment?Comment
