I know there have been a lot of topics on stuff like this before but...well.....here it is again.

Firstly, how long does it take play-asia to send stuff out with ems? And preorders?

And a question that rears its head all the time. I know some people haven't been stung ever but how likely is it to be caught by tax. Shipping a hori stick (ems) and a game (un-registered)

First off - Play-asia are great. I use them almost exclusively for my Jap stuff now.

They take about 5 days to get in=stock items to you.

As for Customs - they mark their packages down as "sample" and I have never been stung.

I have never ordered anything as large as the Hori Arcade sticks before (although I have got a pair of thrid party DC maraccas on back order) so dunno if that will get stung.

Game should be OK.

I placed an order two weeks ago this coming Monday. I chose the (cheap) 7-15 days shipping option so all being well my items should arrive in the next few days.

Seeing as this was the first time I have done business with them I kept the total I spent with them fairly low - just under 50 USD, plus I asked them to mark the package with a declared value of 20 USD, which they said was okay.

So far comunication with them as been pleasent and professional and I feel relaxed. When my stuff arrives I will bump the topic.

hmm, i'm wondering too as i was thinking of getting a silver ps2 from them. i doubt that will get through without tax

Quite a few people used Play-Asia to get that orange SP. I think that most people who used courier or EMS shipping got stung for VAT but the others who used cheap shipping were fine.

I know Neil Mcrae ordered two sticks from them and they came through untaxed.

Ordering only one stick from them seems pointless as it is ?3 cheaper than tok and I am happy to pay ?3 extra to confirm no tax.

I had a feeling games would be ok.
