Xbox mod chip question

Hi,

I'm thinking about modding my UK Xbox to play import games. Xbox-mod.co.uk are selling an ALX2+ R4 mod chip at a pretty good price.

Does anyone have one of these chips fitted or know if they are any good or not? Tried searching on Yahoo but can't find much info at all (other than links to Xbox Mod's own site & one that's in Finnish!).

I've never used one but to behonest mate I would just stick to an Xecutor 2.6, it's only a few quid more expensive and you get all the wires etc that you need to install it.

ALX2+ R4 is just a form of cheapmod IIRC. It works, and takes most 256k bioses IIRC.

Xecuter2.6 would be the best choice. Cheap, best selling mod, and cheap solderless adaptors. The newest X2 bios, with ConfigLive, is 512k anyway - no good for a cheapmod.

and them solder less adapters are so cool and easy, im a complete moron when it comes to technical stuff but even i modded one today using a 2.6 xecutor and a xapter adapter (cost me ?18 from rllmuk) but u can get the pair for ?30 from numerous places.

Looks like Xecuter 2.6 is the way to go. I'd been thinking about getting someone to fit it for me (I have absolutely no soldering experience at all) but the solderless adapter sounds ideal. If it's more or less fool proof I should just about be able to handle it!

It realy is easy, hardest part is putting the xbox lid back on!! was a bugger to line up. Also u need to dl and burn a bios and other apps to disc. (easy enough to find. xbins is your friend in this case
