Could be that your monitor is where the issue lies as I have that same VGA box and it works fine for me on my setup. (Japanese DC & 3 year old CRT). Also worked fine on another smaller monitor I have.

if your dreamcast were in vga mode then I think the output should have a H sync frequency of around 32kHz.
It looks to me like the box is still outputting NTSC. maybe there's a switch you need to flip?

Looks like the signal being sent to your monitor is 15k and it should be 31k for the DC.

The 15k is normally associated with low res so you'll need to find the switch that says monitor/tv on the VGA box and change it.

It also might be worth taking the VGA box out of the DC and putting it in again and make sure you get a good full click connection.

I assume the DC game your playing supports VGA ? (^^*)

all sorted thanks, tried a few different settings on the DC-X "leads" screen and now all OK, thanks for all the help though, and yes it was a VGA compatible game

Been looking for a "VGA switch box" now, eg. something I can leave plugged into my monitor with the PC & DC connected and then switch between the two by the press of a button rather than unplugging leads, can't seem to find one on ebuyer, stockists appreciated, thanks.

You'll be needing a KVM - Keyboard Video Mouse. Thing is, you won't use the K or M sections...

Can't find the one I used to have, but here's one from the same manufacturer: http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/s...tml?BEL-F1DK10

You need something like that. A google for "Belkin KVM" should do you.
