PS2 question

I remember with my US XBOX, I needed an extra cable to carry the signal as my tv displayed it in black and white.......

The same is happening on my PS2 now. Is there anything I can do to get the color (i.e. settings etc) or do I need the cable; if so what is the name of the cable?


If I need one, i'll move this to the Wanted Items section, unless someone can recommened a good cheap place online, or perhaps in store as I have ?20 in choice vouchers.

Also one more question;

I've tried putting a game into both my US and PAL ps2 and it says "Please insert a Playstation or Playstation2 format disc" -- what does that mean?

Either it's a bum disc or it's NTSC JAP?

edit: After looking at the small ring on the back of the disc, it does say TEKKEN 5 US/NTSC.......any suggestions?

You'll need an rgb cable and a properly wired one at that. Something like this although they are quite readily available from anywhere:
rgb cable

Not sure about the game - sounds like a US game so should work in your US ps2. Is the disk scratched at all?

does it say NTSC-J on the disk or the case? If so then yeah its jp.

Nope, I checked the obvious

I've contacted who I bought it from and he's mentioning some chit about "should work with Swap Magic" so i've just got a full refund.....no hassle.

Thx Gold, I seen that one myself actually (similar thing to what I had for the us XBOX) but i'm gonna check Currys first off to see if I can burn this Voucher I have no need for.
