Playing videos off a sd card on a ppc? Transfer rate?

I'm thinking about getting a 1gb sd card to store and play videos on my pda. Thing is I'm worried about the video stuttering because the transfer rate of sd cards isn't good enough?

Does anyone know if I'm right or if this isn't an issue?

I've a 500mhz odd xscale cpu and will be using betaplayer to play the vids.

You'll have no problems - I play DivX all the time on my 400Mhz XScale.

Betaplayer is the player you want and Pocket DivX Encoder is a cool little App for encoding.

Yeah same for me dude. I use a bog standard Sandisk 1GB SD card on a bunch of different PDA's (207 to 512Mhz) and it works a treat.

If only the encoding process wasn't such a bore.

Yep, as the rest have stated, you'll have no problems.

I used to watch movies on my old 9210 which uses MMC cards and they have a similar transfer rate.
Now I watch them on my PDA using a CF card, again with no trouble.

I had no idea about DivX encoder though, think I will have a look for this.

Would love to re-encode some of my anime to watch on the go.
