PS2 chips

Hi all,

A stupid question I know but I am new to the PS2 scene.

I have a PAL V5 or 6 PS2 with a messiah chip (think its v1). I know my ps2 can and does play backup and rips (both US and JPN).

Will it play original import games with the messiah chip ?
