The laptop doesn't look that great to me. Personally, I wouldn't consider one unless you need portability - I find them uncomfortable to use for longer periods of time.

The desktop doesn't look too bad... the graphics card would need replacing if you want to play recent pc games (of the 3D variety anyway - it'll run them, just very slowly). I'm not too sure how well a wireless keyboard/mouse will hold up for faster paced games though.

They're just my opinions mind. Out of curiosity, how much are you willing to spend? And does it _have_ to be from PC World?

      Ok a little more info.

Yes has to be PC World(10% discount and easy to get to when it goes pear shaped)

Have a budget of around ?750

Not to bothered if cant play top titles but the option to would be cool.

Also dunno if it make much difference but im currently on dail up but should get BB soonish.

Take the PC over the laptop any day. Unless you need the portability like Hohum said.

Plus you could buy a decent graphics card with your left over and have quite a good machine there!

Go for the desktop machine then, overall it seems like a reasonable deal as long as you are prepared to update the graphics card at some point (if you decide to game on it anyway).

It'll be fine with FM2005 mind right?

I want to play many leagues.

Yeah, should be fine. It's just gonna be slow with more recent 3d stuff, like Half Life 2 etc.

The most powerful Mac laptops and desktops ever. Supercharged by Apple silicon. MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro.

reliable, simple to use and really nice operating system. yes pc world do sell them. take a look at one of the apple threads to see people wax lyrical about them. However they don't run many games but if its football manager and internet then

I'd steer clear of an iBook, i've had one and had it upgraded and it still stuttered when playing the 2D engine in Football Manager. Other mac system would be fine for it though.

Maybe if it was an ancient one, but one these days would be absolutely fine.

Personally i'd forgo the 10% discount and maybe check out an online seller with a decent on-site warranty. PC-World are possibly the worst people to get a PC from (actually i think tiny are probably worse). Most of the staff know F-all.
