    xbox spec vs. pc spec

    Hi!

Can anyone help me with "Real world" info.

The new xbox has an ATI clocked at 500MHz.

How does this compare to pc VGA cards?

Is it about the level of last gens 9800pro? Or are we taling x800 performance?
I think the X-box has an Nvidea G4, but they seem to make games look BETTER than PC Nvidea G4 games, which often miss the DX9 support.

Clearly graphics are just one part of the picture, (Excuse the double pun) but I would like to know how good they graphics output will be in comparsion to PC stuff.

    Will it impress PC owners?

Clock speed is only part of the equation.
A 9600XT runs at 500Mhz but is not as fast as a 9700 at 270Mhz.
The new Xbox video chip is meant to be a generation ahead of the current X800 cards if the info on devkits is to be believed.

When run at the high resolutions it supports it should look at least as good as current PC games.
As can be seen from the current Xbox, a lot can be wrung out of a 'closed' system as the hardware spec is taken out of the equation.
