    Trouble with my Japanese Saturn

Hi all, I bought a JAP Saturn (1st Gen) years ago, it's switched for both region and 50/60Hz, dusted it off this morning, set it all up and turned it on. To my utmost horror the red access light was flashing at me at I was getting no image on screen; just inky blackness.

Any ideas what's going on? I assume it can't be good, but does anyone know what I could do?

Or perhaps direct me to a site that may be able to help me out some more.

    Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a short circuit to me... it happened to me when I was modding one of my numerous machines. How confident are you with tinkering about inside it? Because you'll have to check all the connections on the switches and on the board to see if any have come loose or have moved so they're touching another connection.

This website has a good step-by-step on dismantling your Saturn if you want to have a look inside.

:EDIT: Hmm... actually on consideration I think it was the power light that was flashing meaning a shot circuit so it could be something a lot worse with yours hopefully someone else will come along who has more of an idea.

Could be problems with the lazer unit having moved? Try nudging it slightly. But don't blame me if the machine goes further tits up

Well special thanks to Saur and kristofski, some minor wire wiggling has gotten it up and running again.

        Cheers guys
