    Network startup

everytime i start up, the network startup screen comes up. the one that you find at work/uni where it asks you to type in your username and password. Anyone know how you turn this off?

goto control panel and users accounts and enable fast user switching - untick "users must enter a password to log onto this computer" if thats there (it is for me but im on a domain). The options are in there anyways

The network switching tab is greyed out? i cant tick untick it for some reason. Thinking back i accidently ticked some boxes when i accessed the properties tab on my network connections tab. I think it was the 'client for microsoft networks' tab. ive unticked it but it wont return back to what it was. i want startup to go from powerup to the desktop with no intrurruptions for passwords etc.

Download Powertoys from the MS site - you can set an autologin using that which means you'll never see the prompt again.

Just make sure that if you have no password set (ie; you just press enter at the login prompt) you have to press enter in the 'password' box on Powertoys. If you don't then it sets a null password which doesn't match the existing password and you'll be locked out of the machine (I've been there - not fun!)
