    photoshop or fireworks?

ive got fireworks MX2004 recently, and seeing some GFXES on the net, i couldnt wait to et starteed, but fireworks has a very little amount of good tutorialsfor making GFXes, asked some guys about it and they say that they use photoshop
now, can anyone tell me the pros and cons of these two programs? do they have same level of styles and tools? cause im really going crazy about it.

also, if you do say photoshop is better can someone tell me what files i need to crack it

Photoshop probably is the better program. I prefer using Fireworks for fiddly little things but if I'm doing a proper good large image, I'll use Photoshop.

Don't really know what to say about the pro's and con's, photoshop does seem to have more to it, but I'm no artistic design artist or whatever so what do I know!

Seriously, you shouldn't ask that question.

Fireworks integrates well with DWMX, Photoshop is the professionals choice. I use firworks myself.

Don't mean to be rude, but have you ever heard of google / any other search engine? Type it in and it is the first link that comes up.

If that's all a little too complicated try http://www.gimp.org

Photoshop + Notepad can do everything apart from Flash+Shockwave.

                        Fireworks? Never heard of it.

Photoshop is all you need for 2D production work. It can be used pretty well for art too, but it always feels rather restricted. For 2D art, Corel Painter is still king.

Fireworks is OK and integrates well with Dreamweaver if your building web sites. Fireworks is really used to create web graphics, i use it myself. Photoshop on the other hand is in a class of it's own, it can do everything Fireworks can do and more. I use Photoshop to create textures for my 3D models and to create effects within any illustrations i've done in Freehand.

Overall, it depends on what you want to do. If your looking to create graphics for your web site or do some basic editing to your graphics, then i would go for Fireworks. On the other hand if your looking to do more complex jobs, such as Color Correction and Restoration, Compositing Multiple Images, or Restoring Old Photos, then go for Photoshop, because no software application on the market can touch it!

Also, if its just 2D graphics you want to create, then go for a vector application like Freehand or Illustrator, the two industry standard vector creation programs.
