I was just wondering, are there any ps2 chips that won't work with DVD9 games? What are the best chips to put into my ps2 so that it would play DVD9 games (like God of War)? I presume there'd be some sort of difference, right? Cheers...

I'm not sure which aren't compatible, but I can say that my DMS3 (which is now quite old) is compatible.

The Messiah 1 which is now 4 years old plays DVD9 games, so I'd expect all the chips currently available to play them with no problem.Comment

Is the Mark 3 Pro chip considered a good one? It should play NTSC games... both DVD5 and DVD9, correct?Comment

I've not heard of the Mark 3 Pro to be honest, unless you mean Magic 3... that should work, as it's the same generation as the DMS3.Comment

It's a fairly old chip (I think it's actually a clone of another chip) but I can see no reasdon why DVD9 would not work.
Hell gossi says the Messiah 1 plays DVD9's - that was the first auto-booting modchip I think.Comment
