    Dreamcast 60hz problem

I have a JVC 28P37, but I can't get it to work with my Pal Dreamcast on 60hz. The TV works fine with all my other consoles in 60hz, apart from the DC

Maybe your TV has a problem with PAL60? What are your other consoles? PAL XBOX outputs PAL60, but PAL PS2 outputs NTSC.

By can't get it to work, you mean there's no picture at all? Rolling picture, colours wrong?

The picture comes up in black and white, which is usually the sign that the TV just doesn't do 6ohz. However, my Pal Gamecube does 60hz on it with no problems. Pal XBox and PS2 have both worked fine in 60hz on it too!

How is the dreamcast connected? RGB, S-video, RF?

Via the Scart socket, I *think* its an official RGB lead but I'm not sure. I used to use the DC on a 14" Sony which was fine with 60hz and the same lead, its just since I tried it on my new TV that I have had problems.

The Dreamcasts RGB was abit weird, and some TVs didn't like it. My mates TV went into standby when you ran a Dreamcast in RGB!!

Are you plugging in to AV1? normally only one scart socket on the tele supports RGB. Usually AV1, but not always.

If your scart plug has pins missing it's almost certainly not a proper RGB cable.

If it doesn't support RGB input he won't be getting a b+w picture, though - it'll be essentially black-on-black with a few barely distinguishable details...

EDIT: plus RGB doesn't need all of a Scart's 21 pins - my DC Scart certainly doesn't.

Black on black sounds like a more accurate description of the picture I'm getting, and I've tried all 3 scart connections in the back of the TV.

The cable has all the pins, I thought RGB cables were the ones that had the pins missing since my AES and Super Famicom RGB cables only have 8 or so pins.

*EDIT* - I have used my Super Famicom, Gamecube, and Neo Geo in RGB on the same TV.

Does it work in 50hz and RGB with your DC?

Yep, but I really wanna get 60hz out of it again. Will have a play around with it again when I get home tonight.

Have you got the RF lead that came with the DC? If so try hooking up your DC with that lead. If it runs in 60Hz it's a problem with the scart lead.
