I've just got Jap version of Katamari Damashii and installed it on HD (my PAL PS2 isn't chipped, so I use HD Avance to play imports). Sometimes it won't load saved games. I move on the save I want to load, press both sticks up and circle at the question. Sometimes it loads, other times (more frequently) it returns to the save select screen and I must re-do the whole process. Maybe I have to keep one memory card for Jap language games, like for GameCube?

I get this sometimes (i don't have a hard drive installed) and the only thing i can really say to you is to just keep on trying to load up your save.
Or load up another save slot - but choose 'no' then load up your original slot.
Just one of those quirks :/ -
