My friend cracked his PSP screen

What options does he have to fix this? Obviously he can't take it back to any shop here in the UK - if he sent it to Sony, would they repair it?

Do Sony have a worldwide warranty, or is JPN or US only?

I had a simlar experience with my Sony Vaio. It stopped working so the wife phoned Sony Japan and they said that as a UK model, it had to be sent to England for repair, even though it has a made in Japan sticker on the bottom.
Duh, stupid.

That's what I'm hoping. He bought it legitimately while he was on holiday in the US.
