    Neo Geo Cart port problems

I have a Neo Geo in for repair

The machine is reading carts OK but the graphics are corrupted. The first layer (credits etc) is fine - everything behind that is a pixellated, flickering mess. Some objects/sprites are visible and there is audio output.

So far I have cleaned the port with an alcohol spray, is there anything else I should look out for? Has anyone had any experience of this fault?

    Nice one you manz!

I have an Mvs board which is like this, apparently its to do with memory chips and (on the mvs at least) it wasnt worth doing.

With mine it was like the graphics were there but all in the wrong places or inverted/negatived or just garbled in small blocks.

Sorry couldnt be any more use

Probably not of use, but this very rarely happens now I have my debug chip installed and I don't plug-in the cart properly.

Possibly worth checking the connections to the BIOS chip?

try www.neogeousa.com as they do replacement slots, I have tried cleaning a few but They warp rather than being dirty and in the end the only way you can get it working properly is replace them.

Thanks a lot for that - I'll see about getting a new slot
