Order lost in the post with Play Asia - in for a rough time?

My package of two DS games never arrived from Play Asia, and I'm pretty sure they've been lost in the post. Has anyone else had this problem with Play Asia, and if so, how hard was it for them to get them to resend the package?

They want me to wait another two weeks (it's already been 5) before they "start an investigation". Anyone have any ideas what I can do?

What shipping method did they use?

I had an item lost between Christmas and March, it took a while (as i got them to resend it, but that went missing as well!) but they gave me the money back in the end.

Steven at PA was very helpful.

Someone somewhere has got my 2 yoshi plush dolls, bastards

The last parcel i got from PA by normal airmail was sent recorded. Is this something new they are doing as every other parcel i have gotten by them in the past was just left at the door.

Nothing extra valuable in the recorded parcel either just 2 gba games.

            Play Asia Problems...

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, just need to ask if anyone else has ever had any experience in dealing with Play Asia when an item gets lost.

I paid via paypal $183.60 for a Nintendo DS which was sent to me on the 6th of June 2005, some 11/12 weeks ago. I have since been in contact with the people at Play Asia who have agreed that this has been lost / stolen in transit, and have said that they were not prepared to issue a refund as it was not their fault the item got lost (I have explained that it is not mine either...)

They suggested that I accept a Store Credit of which I agreed and now I cannot get any response out of them whatsoever. I have sent 3 emails this week asking how they are going to issue the Credit and nothing. I think they are hoping that by ignoring me, I will go away :-(

So to answer the original posters response, in my instance I can sum it up as this :-

Fine when things get delivered ok...

If it gets lost, god help you.

Play-Asia are not so helpful when it comes to resolving problems.

I have contacted paypal and they do not want to know. $183.60 out of pocket and nothing to show for it.

            Anyone got any advice ?

Contact your local bank to see if they can get refund on your behalf via their credit card protection.

All you can do in these instances is contact PayPal as quickly as possible as they have a shamefully short window for chargeback requests and the like.

Lesson? Use a credit card. PayPal ****ing sucks when things go wrong: they were even ****ter in the past. Which is why I refuse to use them (I lost ?200 once and they refused to even look at my case).

Also, be careful about accepting store credit - if you do so and something goes wrong (like this) it makes it that much harder to convince your credit card company that you need to chargeback.

You could always try ringing Play-Asia. They can't not talk to you then.

Just checked out their shipping options & EVERY one of them has insurance it says so next to each option.

If it goes missing its tough **** they have to replace it or offer you a refund. Thats what the insurance is for. Dont accept a store credit demand your cash back.

How did you pay?? if it was by paypal id be tempted to do a chargeback on them.

PA Store credits are issued via email, in the shape of a voucher and work just like the $5 discount ones. You can only use the voucher with ONE order though, so you'll be forced to spend all $183 at once.

I've done that before, but wave goodbye to your PayPal account...

This is where the matter is a little confusing. I paid so much (the majority) of the amount using Paypal and the remainder on paypal but using my Credit Card so I can only chargeback 42.00 gbp

I think I will try and ring them next week and resolve this, the service I have received so far has been good, but then nothing has gone wrong in the past.

They just ignore any emails I send now, it is so frustrating :-(

Thanks for the advice everyone, I appreciate it

                          Sympathy here.

The last TWO seperate orders I have placed through PlayAsia seem to have gone missing. I could understand ONE shipment going missing, but TWO seems a bit odd. It's been five weeks since dispatch ... the usual delivery time is just over a week, tops.

I have contacted PA, and they told me to wait a little while longer, but I just know they ain't gonna arrive. Would love to be proved wrong though.

Like a previous poster said, their website says that ALL items are insured, so stay on the case ... I know I will.

I dunno what has happened to the world of the postal service lately. Two of my eBay buyers are claiming lost parcels, and one parcel I sent airmail to Belgium took three weeks to get there.

I have been told to wait time after time. Once they had agreed that the item had been lost, they then refused to refund me and offered me the store credit.

Now I cannot even get that...

Hope you have better luck than I do....

Not exactly the same problem but when Play-Asia sent me out the wrong type of controll pad they said they would issue me a store credit, it took them 2 weeks to do this. I doubt refund are high on their to-do list.
I do feel for you though matey.
