    HDLoader 0.7C patch.

    Hi,

I live in UK and got NTSC ps2. I'm going to buy hdl.

0.7C Patch was released and it says..

'Force into NTSC-display on PAL machines (fullscreen image).'

    Can it be like..

Force into PAL-display on NTSC machines (fullscreen image)?

Or should i buy NTSc-PAL converter?

    Thank.

Provided your TV supports some form of 60Hz then an RGB cable is your best option.

The patch simply forces the HDLoader itself into NTSC mode, it has no effect on the games themselves.

        My TV got scart input!

Does that mean I only need scart lead and HDLoader?

And If I play PAL games on my NTSC machine using scart lead,
        Can i play perfectly?

Assuming you are using a PAL (or PAL compatible) TV, then yes. But this has absolutely nothing to do with HDLoader or the patch.

A bit out of subject but..

Which scart lead should i use? blaze one? or official one?

Doesn't really matter as long as your absolutely sure it's RGB. Many of them are just standard composite, even if they are labelled as RGB on the packaging (surely that's illigal?).

Can't beat the official one, but the Blaze one seems very popular, so go for it if it's significantly cheaper.

Is the quality of RGB cable better than s-video or composite?

So what do I need for HDLoader to work with my Messiah 2 chipped PS2.

I was hoping to replace Sky+ hard drive for something bigger in the future and then use Sky+ hard drive on PS2. Is this possible.

The Messiah range is dated, so your limited to booting HDLoader from disc I'm afraid. No point buying it, because the retail versions are extremely outdated. Fan contributions have meant an enhanced fully-patched one is your best bet.

Newer modchips can boot HDLoader from memory card with no need for a disc.

The DMS4 Pro actually had an application called ToxicOS, an continuation of HDLoader which is continuously updated. That's certainly the best route if you don't mind getting a new modchip.

That said, if you don't mind booting HDLoader from disc, then your Messiah 2 would suffice.
PS2 uses IDE HDD's, as long as the Sky+ uses one of those, it'll work.
