Not using consoles question

Is it harmful to not use a console/electrical appliance,ie a build up in the capacitors (do they have capacitors) etc...

Was just thinking about this as with my work equipment its like this and i was just trying to remember when i last turned on my Q.

With any electrical item it is a good idea to power it up now and then so things like capacitors don't dry out, you would have to leave it a very long time but it is possible.
