    TV buying advice

Could someone please tell me if the following TV would feature 60Hz?

I know it SHOULD but I've seen relatively new ones not having full compatibility (annoying lines at the top for example).

    Thanks

Email Philips and ask them directly. I'm also looking for a new TV and I've found that:

1 - high street retailers are ****ing useless when it comes to any kind of technical information

2 - when they say "Would you like some help?" it's just a formality...they're really praying that you say "No thanks" because they don't have a clue

3 - most manufacturers have superb customer service and will answer any kind of technical questions with great, clear answers.

It looks like the one i have in my games room.
It runs fine with all my stuff i play through it. XBox, Gamecube, DC , Neo-CD, MD etc etc all run perfectly without a hitch.

The 50Hz bit would be for the tuner though (terrestrial TV). Every TV in Europe is 50Hz but they may still be able to support 60Hz/NTSC material through a composite/s-video signal

Yeah that got me. So it would play NTSC 60Hz?

i would say more than likely as i have just checked a portable tv i have that says the same and plays ntsc signal fine but only using a 'proper' scart lead not any of the cheap ones otherwise it will be in black and white.

That means it doesn't support NTSC. Just PAL 60. For the money it's really worth tracking down a telly that does support all forms of NTSC.
