    GameCube Lan - portable screens

I was thinking that the GC Lan is an excellent idea, since the GC is so portable, so taking them round to a mate's house is easy, even on a motorbike. The problem is that each one needs a display.
Now you can get those fairly useless 4" screens for the top of the GC, but they really aren't up to the job. Hoth level on the one I tried was just completely white - no snow colour definition at all.
If Nintendo released a pair of ?50 TV goggles which you could just shove in your bag, you would get the big screen feel. But would anyone buy them. I think Sony release some expensive ones, but I don't know anyone that has one. Are they any good, or do they just make you sick like the virtual boy?

Or Nintendo could release the AWSOME TFT screen they showed at E3 last year, the picture was brilliant and completely p'eed over the other 3rd party crap available (I think the panel was made by Panaasonic)>

Nice enough, but it's not going to be ?50 is it? I'm talking cheap but useful.
I wonder how much it would set you back though. Nothing Panasonic makes seems to be cheap

Isnt the idea of LAN play having lots of people ? So I guess where you want 2 * 4 ways split screen linked up the goggles would not be a good idea. Also can you imagine what your girlfriend would think if she walked in and you and your star-trek mate are sitting togethor ?

For full screen 1 on 1 the goggles would be cool though - they just need a peephole so you can watch out to see if your mate is trying to change the frequency on your wavebird reciever for some sneaky points

Goggles would Rock for Fzero esp if linked up. Imagine 30 players (i know it wont happen etc i can dream) all with their own goggs on etc.... You may have to have a healthy supply of sick bags around.

When i went to Tokyo for the Ps2 launch my mate bought some Eyetrek glasses too. We tried it out on RRV and although the definition wasnt amazing the screen seemed massive, it was difficult to stop yourself from turning your head when going round a corner.

I can imagine that they are alot better in the picture dept now. Not sure how headache induing they were though.
