Anyone having any problems w/ GTA San Andreas US Xbox?

Hi,

Hoping someone can confirm something for me please?

Just received my US copy of GTA : SA in the post from VG+ this morning. Sat down to play it just now and can't get it to work.

I'm playing on a modded PAL Xbox fitted with an Xecuter Lite 2.6 CE chip & the latest Team Xecuter bios (5032) installed. When I choose 'load from disc' from the Evo X menu the Evo X 'loading' message appears as normal for a couple of seconds but then rather than booting the game it just kicks me back to the Evo X main menu again.

Has anybody else experienced any problems with this game? I'm assuming that the disc is probably just faulty but want to rule out any bios incompatability problems before I return it for a replacement.

I believe it has extra region protection, like the US version of Monkey Ball.
There's a replacement GTASA .xbe file available.

I hadn't heard of this new protection before but that'd explain things. Will do some digging and hopefully will be able to get it up and running.
