Paypal security.

Hi! I'm new to online trading, but I found the paypal service easy to use.

A few things have worried me! Firstly they seem to have kept my CC details onrecord. Normally these are destroyed for online transactions. Have they ever been hacked before? Surely every black hat this side of China would be trying to get these details?

Secondly I wonder how secure it is for "Recieving" payments. Similar to above.

Lots of you seem to know a thing or two about it, and I've had a few PM's questioning my sanity for using Paypal.

So what's the score? Should I bin them?

I've been using paypal for about a year and half. I've only ever used it for making purchases at sites like cduniverse, playasia etc and i've never had any problems.

They do keep a hold of credit/debit card details do but you can easily remove those details when you're on the site and logged in.

Having read what's up on that site... you got me worried now. Might have to stop using them, unless someone can say otherwise

I stopped using Paypal after going into a chargeback procedure with them (before their current policy) and being led round in circles (eBay too) and eventually doing a chargeback on my credit card from Paypal, which they were not best pleased about.

They cgtf, tbfh. I've used NoChex since.

You can remove your credit card / bank details but they keep them on record despite this so it's just for show really. Yes they're crooked as hell, but until a similar service somes along what's the alternative?
