for example me and my brother would both want to play either at the same time, or at diffrent times of the day etc on our own.

Its free for 60 days, but you have to get a Hunters Licence before it lets you online.

And no, the ?5.99 is for as many chars as you like.

Not having Xbox Live yet, but stil being afan of PSO since the DC days, i was wondering if it's possible to play offline liek it was on DC or does Xbox Live totally take over and make it impossible to play on yer own?

Anyone help?

You can play offline, but you still need Xbox Live to be able to do so, which is a bit of a bummer. Although to be honest its not that great as an offline game.
