PSP buying

Hi people.

I am in the market soon for a SONY PSP, and was wondering who you would recommend I purchase the machine off.

I was looking to buy from an importer rather than ebay for obvious reasons.

Looks a bit too good to be true to be honest.

Should I be looking for any specific version on the PSP or will any do, the asian one seems to be a bit cheaper.

Anyway, any pointers would be cool as this is a big outlay for me, and I want to make sure I go with a trusted, reliable and fast importer.

Also, will the Us machine play Japanese games and vice versa.

I recon there still waiting for Gran Turismo for the white ltd one. But not sure bout the others i also want a different coloured one and not seen any dates yet

I got mine from Videogames Plus within 3 day's of ordering, plus i didn't pay any import tax. When ordering ask them to mark the item/s down before shipping, that way you'll avoid import tax! They ship via DHL.

The PSP will play games from all regions, but won't play UMD's from any region. So if you have a US PSP, you can only play region 1 US UMD's. I know, it suck's, but **** happens. Also, if you want to play UK region 2 UMD's, then get the Japanese version as you'll be able to play games from all regions, plus UK region 2 UMD's on the Japanese system as Japan are the same (region wise) concerning UMD's.

Or buy used from someone on here, my mate is thinking of selling his US machine, it is the value package with the spiderman movie, and he has US copies of Ridge Racer and Wipeout. It is as new and would cost you less than the buying from Videogameplus even without any import duty or vat.

So what is the difference between the different revisons? I hear people talking about Ver 1.0 and 1.5 or something...which is best to get?

Recommended to a mate of mine looking to get one to go via VG+. He was immensely surprised and delighted to see it turn up three days later with no Customs duty

@Sumire - I highly doubt you'll find a 1.0 Japanese PSP now, so 1.5 is the lowest you can shoot for. Many places are starting to do ones with 1.51 as standard however.

Bought mine used on here no problems.
Next choice was yesasia.com, with some googled $5 vouchers, its $295 for JPN value pack and $40 for US games, with free delivery and no import tax as re-sent from UK.

NCSX might still have them - I only got mine a few months ago from them and it's 1.0.

Got mine from yesasia and it was a v1.0 machine. That was back in March mind you.
