Halo 2 mappack question?

I have Live .If I buy the disc does it load the maps on to the hard drive then I put in the Halo 2 disc to play online? Or do I disk swap ?
Will I have to download the maps via Live to play them of the Halo 2 disc?

As I dont want to pay twice for the maps but I play 4 player round a mates offline .So its the disc or taking my xbox round but I am just not strong enough

the retail disc with the new maps will download them to your hard drive, to play them you'll still require your halo2 disc... the new levels will just load off the hard drive.

As far as i'm aware, the maps are copied from the disc to the HD so if you take the disc round your mates once, copy them to his HD and everything should be fine from there.

I'm hoping that you will be able to use one Map Pack DVD to save the maps on as many Xboxes as you like. That way I can shar the cost with some mates. Any idea on whether it will include a registration key or something?

AH, thats quite good you can do that. I've already paid for and downloaded them all anyway but still good!

I wonder if GAME will accept returns for the Halo 2 map disc.....?

I'm hoping the disc is region free as I have both a PAL and NTSC console.

I will probably buy the Map Pack as I haven't bothered getting the premium ones from Live and have some Game vouchers to use.

It was due out yesterday along with the five new premium maps, but both have been put back to 8 July (the Map Pack has at least).

If you don't need to keep the disk, I'm betting they'll turn up on Ebay pretty cheap after a couple of days.
